Biography

Mr. Rameshwar Rimal serves as a Technical Officer specializing in Agrometeorology at the National Agricultural Environment Research Centre (NAERC), under the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) in Khumaltar. He holds a Master’s degree in Meteorology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Since 2015, Mr. Rimal has been an expert member of the Agrometeorology team, contributing to the preparation of the weekly Agro-met Advisory Bulletin (AAB) at NAERC, NARC. In addition to his advisory role, Mr. Rimal is actively involved in various research projects at NAERC, focusing on climate change adaptation and crop-simulation models (DSSAT) within Nepal's agricultural sector. His research has been published in several national and international journals, showcasing his contributions to the field.

Prior to his tenure at NARC, Mr. Rimal taught dynamical meteorology, fluid mechanics, and agricultural meteorology at the Central Department of Tribhuvan University and its affiliated campuses, for both M.Sc. and B.Sc. programs. Mr. Rimal is a founding member of the South Asia Forum on Agricultural Meteorology (SAFOAM) and has been serving as an executive committee member (joint secretary) since 2021. He is also a life member of the Society of Hydrologists and Meteorologists (SOHAM)-Nepal, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the advancement of meteorological sciences in the region
